Reports from Sky Germany suggest that De Zerbi, along with Julian Nagelsmann, is now seen as a top contender for the managerial role at Bayern Munich. This shift comes after Xabi Alonso confirmed his commitment to Bayer Leverkusen, leaving Bayern to explore other candidates.
Brighton manager De Zerbi has garnered praise from Bayern’s sporting director Max Eberl, who holds a high opinion of his coaching abilities. It’s understood that De Zerbi has an exit clause ranging from €10m to €15m (£8.5m to £12.8m), adding an intriguing dimension to his potential departure.
De Zerbi himself has cast doubt over his future at Brighton, expressing a desire to engage in discussions with club owner Tony Bloom regarding his next steps.
