Ralph Lauren Unveils Team USA’s Olympic Uniforms with a Nod to Parisian Style

Ralph Lauren continues its tradition of dressing Team USA, infusing the spirit of Paris into the new uniforms for the upcoming Olympics. The collection, which has been the brand’s responsibility since 2008, features a blend of classic American fashion and Parisian vibrancy, showcasing red, white, and blue hues.

David Lauren, the brand’s chief branding and innovation officer, expressed pride in outfitting the athletes, emphasizing the collaboration with them and the Olympic Committee to craft a narrative of American values through the attire.

The opening ceremony outfits include a navy Ralph Lauren blazer with patriotic red and white accents, a striped Oxford shirt, a navy knit tie, and light denim jeans. This ensemble is designed to endure and be cherished across generations, reflecting timeless American style.

For the closing ceremony, athletes will don a racecar-style jacket with USA patches, a classic striped polo, and white jeans, combining traditional American aesthetics with a contemporary edge. Paralympic swimmer Jamal Hill praised the collection’s ability to merge these elements seamlessly.

Team USA’s flag bearers will sport unique colorways of these outfits to distinguish themselves during the ceremonies. Additionally, athletes will receive items from the “Villagewear” collection, named after the Athletes’ Village. This line includes various Ralph Lauren classics, such as jackets, sweaters, rugby shirts, and a “100% recycled” polo shirt, marking a first for the brand.

Sarah Hirshland, CEO of the US Olympic & Paralympic Committee, lauded the designs for encapsulating American style and the team’s spirit. The uniforms serve as symbols of unity and inspiration, resonating with the team and its supporters.

The collection not only dresses the athletes but also celebrates their achievements and the sports they represent, as seen with swimmer Katie Ledecky and BMX racer Kamren Larsen modeling the opening ceremony look, and gymnast Shilese Jones showcasing the closing ceremony attire. The uniforms are set to make a statement at the Paris Games, reflecting the pride and culture of Team USA.
