Napoli and Manchester United have reached an agreement for the transfer of midfielder Scott McTominay, with a fee set at £25.4 million (€30 million). The deal, which includes a significant sell-on clause, now hinges on McTominay agreeing to personal terms with the Serie A club. The move could potentially facilitate Manchester United’s pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain’s (PSG) midfielder Manuel Ugarte, although the completion of the McTominay transfer is not essential for the Ugarte deal to proceed.
McTominay, a product of Manchester United’s academy, has made 255 appearances and scored 29 goals for his boyhood club. Despite being in the final year of his contract, United holds an option to extend his deal by an additional 12 months. His recent appearance came in United’s 2-1 loss to Brighton, where he played the last 11 minutes after coming off the bench.
Manuel Ugarte and Manchester United Talks Continue United remains in discussions with PSG over a potential move for Ugarte. Both clubs are reportedly favoring a permanent transfer, though a loan deal with an obligation to buy is also on the table.
Napoli’s Interest in Billy Gilmour In addition to McTominay, Napoli is also targeting Brighton midfielder Billy Gilmour. The Italian club aims to secure both Scottish internationals, although signing Gilmour alongside McTominay may require Napoli to offload a player.
Jadon Sancho’s Future: Juventus and Chelsea Express Interest Meanwhile, Jadon Sancho’s future at Manchester United remains uncertain. Chelsea is exploring both a permanent transfer and a loan deal for the forward, with talks ongoing between the two clubs. Juventus is also interested in signing Sancho on loan, though United prefers a permanent move or a loan with an obligation to buy. With only five days left in the transfer window, a compromise may be reached.
Sancho, who has two years left on his contract with an option for an additional year, was left out of United’s matchday squad against Brighton. Juventus, who are in the market for three wingers, are close to signing Porto’s Francisco Conceicao and Fiorentina’s Nico Gonzalez alongside their pursuit of Sancho.
