Jon Rahm Wins LIV Golf UK After Tyrrell Hatton’s Final Hole Collapse

Jon Rahm secured a one-stroke victory at the LIV Golf UK event after Tyrrell Hatton bogeyed the final hole. Hatton, who shared the lead going into the last hole, three-putted, handing the title to his Legion XIII team-mate Rahm. This win marks Rahm’s first since the 2023 Masters.

Rahm had three-putted the 17th hole, dropping into a tie with Hatton at 13 under par. However, Hatton’s three-putt on the 18th from long range at JCB Golf and Country Club cost him the win. Rahm, who had finished in the top 10 in all nine LIV tournaments he completed since joining, had to withdraw from the Houston event due to a toe injury, which also caused him to miss the US Open.

In a post-round interview, Rahm praised Hatton’s performance and expressed relief at his victory, mentioning personal challenges his family faced this year. Rahm’s wife, Kelly, had been on bed rest, and their son Kepa had asked him to bring home a trophy.

Overnight leader Andy Ogletree initially looked set for victory, leading by four after birdies on the first and second holes. However, double bogeys on the 14th and 15th holes ruined his chances, and he finished tied for sixth. Cameron Smith and Joaquin Niemann birdied their final holes to share second place with Hatton at 12 under par.
