Vegas’s victory was sealed with a decisive three-foot birdie putt on the 18th hole. Despite a challenging final round that included a lengthy wait on the tee box and a tricky approach shot, Vegas managed to maintain his composure. His long eagle putt set up the short birdie putt that secured his win. This victory moves him into a strong position for the upcoming FedExCup Playoffs.
Max Greyserman, a 29-year-old PGA Tour rookie, made a strong push with an eight-under 63, including a 30 on the back nine. His spectacular birdie on the 18th hole, following a challenging shot through trees, brought him within one shot of Vegas. Greyserman’s performance was his best round of the year.
Maverick McNealy and Matt Kuchar finished two shots back in third place. Kuchar, who was looking for his first win since the 2019 Sony Open in Hawaii, expressed excitement about being in contention again. McNealy, still seeking his first PGA Tour win, also had a solid performance.
Taylor Pendrith, who led after two rounds, finished fifth at 14 under, followed by Kurt Kitayama, Patrick Fishburn, and Sahith Theegala. Vegas and Greyserman both moved into the top 70 in the FedExCup standings, positioning themselves for the Playoffs, which begin in three weeks.
Vegas’s win was particularly significant given his recent struggles with elbow and shoulder surgeries. Despite feeling discomfort in his shoulder during the final round, he managed to stay calm and avoid major mistakes. The victory helped ease his pain and marked a triumphant return to form.
