Elvis Presley’s Iconic Blue Suede Shoes Hit the Auction Block

Elvis Presley’s legendary blue suede shoes, immortalized in his 1956 hit song, are now available for fans to own as they are auctioned by Henry Aldridge and Son. The shoes, a size 10 and a half and branded by “Nann-Bush,” were a staple of Presley’s wardrobe in the ’50s.

Worn by the King during iconic performances like “I Want You, I Need You, I Love You” and “Hound Dog” on “The Steve Allen Show,” these shoes were later gifted to his friend Alan Fortas on the eve of Presley’s military service.

Authenticated by Jimmy Velvet, Presley’s close confidant and the founder of the Elvis Presley Museum, the shoes come with a letter of authenticity and a personal account from Fortas detailing the memorable night at Graceland before Presley’s army induction.

The auction, set to commence on Friday, opens the bidding at £55,000, approximately $69,600. These blue suede shoes represent a piece of showbusiness history that transcends the 20th century, offering a rare opportunity for collectors and fans alike to own a part of the King’s legacy. The estimated price for these iconic shoes ranges between £100,000 and £120,000, or about $126,000 to $152,000, reflecting their unique value and significance.
