Despite these hints, Erik ten Hag, the Manchester United manager, was quick to dispel any doubts about the club’s intentions. During the interview, he pulled Fernandes away and later confirmed in his post-match press conference that the club is keen on keeping him. Ten Hag praised Fernandes for his dedication and resilience, even playing through injuries, and highlighted his passion for football and desire to win.
Wayne Rooney, a Manchester United legend, has also voiced his support for Fernandes, suggesting that the team should be built around him. Rooney emphasized Fernandes’ importance to the squad and his leadership qualities.
