Anthony Joshua’s Next Fight: Awaiting IBF Decision, Parker Eyes Rematch

The International Boxing Federation (IBF) has not yet approved a world heavyweight title fight between Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois, despite speculation. Anthony Joshua is nearing the end of negotiations for his next fight, feeling eager to return to the ring after a single bout in 2024, where he defeated former UFC champion Francis Ngannou.

Daniel Dubois, a potential contender, recently claimed an interim IBF title by defeating Filip Hrgovic. However, the IBF has not sanctioned a fight between Dubois and Joshua for the world heavyweight title. Currently, Oleksandr Usyk holds all four major heavyweight world titles, including the IBF belt, after triumphing over Tyson Fury.

Zhilei Zhang, another hopeful, has expressed interest in facing Joshua after defeating Deontay Wilder, although his team has not been approached for a fight. Meanwhile, Joseph Parker, a former WBO champion who lost his title to Joshua in 2018, has been performing well with victories over Wilder and Zhang. Parker believes his recent successes merit a rematch with Joshua and is set to make an announcement soon.

Parker shared his confidence in the training and preparation formula he has developed with his team, consisting of head trainer Andy Lee and nutritionist George Lockhart. With the heavyweight division’s dynamics constantly changing, Parker remains ready for any opportunity, including a potential world championship fight if the titles become vacant following the upcoming bout between Usyk and Fury. Parker’s stance is clear: he’s prepared for whoever he may face in the ring, including a possible second clash with Anthony Joshua.
