Sean O’Malley Criticizes Conor McGregor Over Drug Test Comments

UFC bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley has lashed out at Conor McGregor after the former two-division champion mocked O’Malley’s past drug test failures. McGregor had quote-tweeted a post about O’Malley’s previous positive tests for ostarine with a laughing crying emoji, which prompted O’Malley to respond harshly.

In the original post, O’Malley discussed a study sent to him by UFC drug-testing official Jeff Novitzky, which explored whether ostarine could be transferred through sweat. O’Malley speculated that this might explain his positive tests for very low traces of the banned substance between 2018 and 2019.

Although McGregor’s mocking tweet has since been deleted, O’Malley did not hold back in his response. He criticized McGregor’s skills and fitness, calling him “mentally weak” and a “drug addict” who needs rehab. Despite his harsh words, O’Malley admitted he is still a fan of McGregor and hopes for his recovery.

This isn’t the first time the two fighters have clashed. In May, McGregor included O’Malley in a rant against Ryan Garcia following Garcia’s failed drug test for ostarine. Despite this, O’Malley had previously expressed his admiration for McGregor, calling himself a “massive Conor fan” and acknowledging the influence McGregor had on his career.

However, O’Malley’s fandom was tested once again with McGregor’s recent comments. The ongoing tension between the two fighters highlights the competitive and often contentious nature of the UFC world.
