Carlos Alcaraz Dominates Novak Djokovic to Win Second Straight Wimbledon Title

Carlos Alcaraz claimed his second consecutive Wimbledon title by defeating Novak Djokovic in a dominant performance, winning 6-2, 6-2, 7-6 (7-4). This victory marks Alcaraz’s fourth Grand Slam title, adding to his US Open and French Open wins.

Djokovic, who had been recovering from knee surgery, struggled to keep up with Alcaraz’s pace and power. Despite saving three championship points in the third set, Djokovic couldn’t overcome the young Spaniard’s relentless play. Alcaraz’s victory makes him the second man in the Open Era, after Roger Federer, to win his first four Grand Slam finals.

Alcaraz expressed his joy at fulfilling his childhood dream of winning Wimbledon, calling it the most beautiful tournament and trophy. He now looks forward to supporting Spain in the Euro 2024 final against England.

Djokovic acknowledged Alcaraz’s superior performance and reflected on his own efforts, expressing pride despite the loss. This defeat leaves Djokovic still one Grand Slam title short of the all-time record and one Wimbledon title behind Federer’s record of eight.
