Lucy Bronze Ends Barcelona Tenure

Renowned defender Lucy Bronze is parting ways with Barcelona after a trophy-laden two-year spell. Her contract concludes this week, making her a free agent from June 30 onwards. Bronze’s tenure at Barcelona was marked by significant victories, including two European championships, two league triumphs, and three domestic cup wins, across her 70 appearances.

With 123 international appearances, Bronze is a prominent figure in English football, ranking sixth in appearances for the national team. Her career has been diverse, with previous engagements at Manchester City, Lyon, Sunderland, Everton, and Liverpool.

The upcoming Women’s Super League season is scheduled to begin on September 21-22, while the Women’s Championship will start earlier on September 7-8. A winter break is set from December 16 to January 18, with the season finale on May 10-11, 2025.

The new season will follow 42 days after the Olympic Games’ women’s football final. Although Team GB didn’t qualify, other teams like the USA, Brazil, and France will compete in Paris.

The Women’s League Cup dates are also set, with group stages from October to December and the final on March 15-16, 2025. As Bronze’s next move remains uncertain, her free agency status is sure to attract attention from top clubs worldwide.
